Osogbo — For allegedly participating in the recent bloody crisis, which left many people dead and some wounded in Modakeke, Police in Osun State yesterday declared seven persons including leaders of the warring NURTW factions wanted.

At least 10 persons were killed and some buildings including the palace of the Ogunsua of Modakeke, Oba Francis Adedoyin, were razed down during the crisis between the factions of NURTW in the town.

Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Joshua Olayemi (ASP) told newsmen in Osogbo yesterday that the force is looking for Mr Sunday Igboho, Samuel Oluabidun, Sunday Adebayo, Bukoye Olowookere, Segun Ojo and Saliu Finu in connection with the bloody crisis.

According to the PPRO, Saliu and six other persons were alleged to have killed one Lateef Elegbedi and went into hiding.

“The State Police Commi-ssioner and the Director of SSS last Tuesday visited Modakeke to find the hideouts of the suspects.

“We are confident that we will find them wherever they are, but in their own interest they should report to the nearest police station,” PPRO said.

Meanwhile, the AIG in charge of Zone 11, Mr Yekinni Jimoh, has stated that the recent increase in the number of the check-points on the highways was to checkmate the activities of armed robbers in the country.

The police chief, in a chat with newsmen in Osogbo yesterday, declared that Police will not close their eyes and watch armed robbers perpetrate their heinous trade.

According to him, there was a need to checkmate the activities of the men of the underworld in order, to protect the lives and property of the people.

He, however, appealed to the people to assist the police by volunteer information on the activities of the criminals.
