Lagos — Osun State government has set up an organising committee that would take adequate care of President Olusegun Obasanjo and his entourage who will be visiting the state today.

Sources close to the office of the Executive Governor, Chief Adebisi Akande told P.M News that the committee members had been given a substantial amount of money to make the visit a success.

Part of the money collected by the committee men was said to have been given to the kitchen staffers of the state governor to buy some cooking ingredients that will be used to prepare food for the president and his entourage. Drinks were said to have also been bought by the committee and all would be iced today.

Meanwhile, other arrangements are being made by the state government to see that the President’s visit to the state is a success.

One of the buildings at the state government house annex has also been renovated by the state government.

Similarly, jingles and messages of welcome for the president are now being played on the state radio and television while today has been declared a public holiday.

P.M News investigations, however, revealed that a total of N30 million has been released by the Federal Government to the state government to beef up its security arrangement in preparation for the two-day official visit of President Olusegun Obasanjo to the state.

His visit to the state would allow him to examine the extent of damage in Ife and Modakeke and know what actually caused the war between the two communities.

The President will also meet traditional rulers in the state and at the end inaugurate a peace and understanding committee which will bring lasting peace to the communities.
