Nigeria: Man, 20, Commits Suicide in Osun

Osogbo — A 20-year-old man, Oladunni Ayodeji, has committed suicide at Oke-Obutu area of Modakeke, Osun State. Our correspondent reports that the matter was reported to the Divisional Police Officer in Modakeke, and policemen were deployed to the scene.

Osogbo — Indigenes of Ife and Modakeke in Osun State, have lauded Friday’s peace pact between the two communities, which culminated in the elevation of the Ogunsua of Modakeke as an Oba.

The accord was consummated among Osun State Government, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, Olubuse II and Ogunsua of Modakeke, Francis Adedoyin.

Osogbo — The traditional ruler of Modakeke, Ile-Ife, Osun State Oba Francis Adedoyin, last Saturday made a trumphant return to his throne, which he abdicated for seven months, following the bloody riot that engulfed the town early this year.

The Ogunsua of Modakeke had fled into exile when his palace was torched by rioters, who accused him of taking sides in the internal crisis that visited the town.

Nigeria: Modakeke Crisis: Police Declare 7 Persons Wanted

Osogbo — For allegedly participating in the recent bloody crisis, which left many people dead and some wounded in Modakeke, Police in Osun State yesterday declared seven persons including leaders of the warring NURTW factions wanted.

At least 10 persons were killed and some buildings including the palace of the Ogunsua of Modakeke, Oba Francis Adedoyin, were razed down during the crisis between the factions of NURTW in the town.
